Whilst over the counter remedies such as whitening toothpaste can help remove some surface staining, they can’t change the underlying colour of the tooth. Only professional-strength bleaching can have that dramatic effect.

Professional teeth whitening shouldn’t cause or increase tooth sensitivity if it’s done properly. If you’re prone to sensitive teeth, we’ll advise a slower treatment to further reduce risk.
Yes, whitening toothpastes can remove some surface stains and are an excellent option for maintaining whitening once you’ve had it done, however they can’t change the underlying colour of the teeth - only professional-grade bleaching can achieve that.
